Board and Commission Vacancies
The following terms are set to expire the first Monday in January 2025. If you are interested in serving your community, please consider submitting a letter of interest no later than December 31, 2024. No person shall be eligible to apply for a Board/Commission seat unless they are a resident of Jefferson Township, Lackawanna County, PA. No person shall be considered for appointment by the Board of Supervisors if they are delinquent with any local taxes or fees due to the Township or any fees due to the Jefferson Township Sewer Authority. It is recommended that each applicant attend at least one meeting of the Board or Commission they would like to be appointed to in order to gain insight on how the Board/Commission functions.
Jefferson Township Planning Commission - The Planning Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. to review subdivision and land development plans as well as lot consolidations.

Jefferson Township Sewer Authority - The Sewer Authority makes decisions and policies regarding the day-to-day operations of the sewer system. The Sewer Authority meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Zoning Hearing Board - The zoning hearing board conducts hearings related to denials made by the zoning officer, special exceptions, and conditional uses. They meet on an as needed basis.

Recreation Board - The Recreation Board plans community events. They meet on an as needed basis.

Vacancy Board - The vacancy board member must be a registered elector.
